FAVELA IMMERSIVE FESTIVAL 

First festival dedicated to immersive works by black and indigenous artists and creators from the periphery and rural areas throughout Brazil

A digital platform where you can access, for free, a selection of immersive works, such as the award-winning “Under the Skin VR”. There are also live debates with important personalities linked to social causes, arts and technology, as well as workshops and presentations of projects in development.

In its debut edition, FIF's main work is the experience "Under the Skin VR", the first interactive virtual reality documentary produced in Complexo do Alemão, which was selected for the European festival IDFA — Doc Lab 2020 and had an illustrious presentation at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. With an Afrofuturist production and aesthetics by the agency GatoMÍDIA, Coletivo Papo Reto and the production company Sete Léguas, participants can follow live talk shows and workshops to learn about the different aspects of virtual reality, through a 3D and 360° digital platform, which simulates face-to-face contact.
